我的主要研究領域為宋明理學。 碩士論文題目是戴震對宋明理學倫理學的批判，博士論文主題是朱熹的心性工夫論。博士畢業後，我曾兩度到德國柏林自由大學的Dahlem人文研究中心從事兩個博士後研究項目。2018年4月至2019年2月我在加州大學伯克利分校從事學術訪問。我曾長期任教於武漢大學哲學學院，所講授的課程包括「中國哲學史（先秦兩漢）」、「中國哲學史（宋元明清）」、「四書導讀」、「老莊導讀」、「先秦中國哲學專題」等。在香港中文大學所講授的課程包括「中國哲學史（先秦兩漢）」、「先秦儒家哲學」、「中國哲學專題研究」（《傳習錄》導讀、《朱子語類》導讀等）。我近些年就朱子學與陽明學中的誠意與自欺問題、理學與佛學的關係、宋代萬物一體觀、王陽明的良知觀念等論題在中英文期刊中發表過幾篇論文，發表專著《誠意關——從朱子晚年到王陽明的哲學史重構》（人民出版社，2022年）。
