刑罚哲学国际学术会议

由哲学系主办，崇基学院、新亚书院以及中文大学协办之「刑罚哲学国际学术会议」已
于六月十八至二十日顺利完成。

会议发表了十四篇论文，分为三大主题：一、为何惩罚？惩罚多少？二、惩罚与社会公义；三、死刑应该废除还是施行？

会议主题讲者为Erin Kelly、T. M. Scanlon、Tommie Shelby三位教授。

Kelly 教授任教于塔夫斯大学，致力研究道德及政治哲学、法律哲学，对公义问题尤为重视。Kelly 教授着作甚丰。她最重要的一篇论文 “Criminal Justice Without Retribution” 二零零九年于The Journal of Philosophy 发表。

Scanlon 教授是哈佛大学阿尔福德自然宗教、道德哲学及公民政体讲座教授。Scanlon 教授出版了一系列重要着作，主要着作有一九九八年出版的 What We Owe to Each Other以及二零零八年出版的 Moral Dimensions。 Scanlon教授是当今三四位最受尊崇的英美哲学家之一，他的契约论广受世界各地哲学家谈论。

Shelby 教授是哈佛大学非裔及非裔美籍研究教授以及哲学教授。他的一篇重要论文 “Justice, Deviance, and the Dark Ghetto,” 二零零七年于 Philosophy & Public Affairs 发表，并于二零零五年出版We Who Are Dark: The Philosophical Foundations of Black Solidarity一书。

近三十位分别来自比利时、以色列、台湾、美国及香港的学者，出席了这个为期三天的会议。
