Brief Biography
Dr. Tyler Yeung started his academic path in Hong Kong, earned a PhD in Berlin, and did postdoctoral research in Taipei. His work explores how imagination shapes who we are, bridging ideas from both European and Asian philosophy. His postdoctoral project at Academia Sinica, titled “An Imaginative and Ethereal Subjectivity: An Attempt to Transcultural Philosophical Anthropology,” focused on this theme, building on his doctoral thesis published with the Martin Heidegger Society Research Series.
Beyond academia, Yeung has worked as a news anchor, hosted a philosophy talk show on screen, and managed overseas investment promotion in various European countries. He is also the founder of School of Somewhere (SOS), a YouTube channel dedicated to making philosophical and humanistic ideas accessible to a wider audience. He enjoys staying active with basketball, swimming, and marathon running, which fuels his creativity in art. These hobbies bring warmth and happiness to him, his family, and his cat, Her Majesty Lami (拉麵).
