Brief Biography

Zhihua Yao received his PhD from Boston University. He is presently Professor in Department of Philosophy, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests cover Buddhist philosophy, Indian philosophy, philosophy of religion, phenomenology, and philosophy of mind. His publications include Nonexistent Objects in Buddhist Philosophy: On Knowing What There is Not (Bloomsbury Academic 2020), Brahman and Dao: Comparative Studies of Indian and Chinese Philosophy and Religion (co-edited with Ithamar Theodor, Lexington Books 2014), The Buddhist Theory of Self-Cognition (Routledge 2005), and numerous journal articles and book chapters.
